Network administrators install, maintain and optimise hardware and software systems across various communication networks. They are responsible for ensuring efficient data performance and integration of information across networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and secure military networks.
Network administrators also prioritise network security by implementing measures to protect sensitive information and maintain network integrity. They collaborate with other IT professionals and coordinate efforts to optimise network resources and troubleshoot network issues.
