Western Australian defence industry firms and peak organisations are invited to apply for Round 2 of the State Government’s $2.5 million Defence Industry Reskilling and Upskilling Grants program.
This initiative supports the development and delivery of new, customised, or existing education and training products that address the defence industry’s evolving workforce needs.
The program encourages partnerships between defence industry firms, consortia, or peak bodies and Team WA universities including Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia, or WA-based registered training organisations.
The grants aim to fast-track the delivery of training products such as credit-bearing micro-credentials, accredited short courses, and Industry 4.0 skill sets, helping to reskill or upskill both new entrants and existing workers.
The program is part of the State Government’s broader $11 million investment to grow WA’s professional and para-professional defence workforce. It builds on a previous $18 million package to strengthen the State’s defence industry capabilities and trades workforce.
Expressions of Interest for Round 2 are now open via Tenders WA, with applications closing Friday 22 August 2025.
